A magical night at the Disney parks is traditionally ended with a spectacular display of fireworks that put the perfect cap on a perfect day. Unfortunately, not everyone is capable of witnessing these fantastic finishes. Disney may have come up with a solution to that problem.
The Disney Research Hub has developed new technology that creates a tactile fireworks display so that the blind and visually impaired will actually be able to feel the fireworks and share in the magical experience.
Water jets spray onto the backside of a screen to create this tactile effect. Different nozzles are used to mimic different kinds of pyrotechnics.
It is unclear yet if or when this technology might end up in the parks, but it certainly shows that Disney is considering every one of their guests when they create their magical experiences.
