‘Scent like no other’: Epsom-based company creates perfume which ‘smells like the pub’ | Surrey Live

Brits are missing the pub more than ever right now, and with indoor hospitality restrictions in place until mid-May at the earliest, there is still a long way to go.

However, Epsom-based company Liberty Games has created a limited edition perfume, ‘Eau de Pub’, designed to “take you straight back to your local”.

According to the Government’s lockdown roadmap, hospitality venues across England will be able to serve customers indoors from no earlier than May 17.

The games room retailer says it has partnered with a bespoke fragrance company in Italy to create “a scent like no other”, with a variety of key notes.

It’s almost impossible to believe that a ‘pub scent’ has been created, but according to Liberty Games, the combination of the following ingredients will bring back memories of the boozer:

• Amber – to bring back the sense of warmth as you enter the pub;
• Cedar wood – inspired by the spilt beers on the wooden bar;
• Leather – to remind you of the leather seats and bar stools;
• Tobacco – to remind you of the local punters who have just been out for a cigarette;
• Citrus – to bring back the senses of the sticky carpets and floors, and the recently cleaned toilets.

Stuart Kerr, technical director at Liberty Games, said: “Everyone is missing being in the pub with their friends or family, and getting back into that pub atmosphere is something Brits are really looking forward to when restrictions are lifted.

“But until then, we wanted to bring the pub to you, by creating this exclusive pub-themed fragrance that will bring back great memories of sitting around a wood fire or playing pool in the pub with your friends.”
